Foundation · Center of layout
- Build down regardless of suit, wrapping from Ace to King as necessary.
- Any card in the foundation may be played to another pile as long as all the cards below it are built in sequence and in suit.
- Empty spaces are filled automatically from the waste or, if empty, the stock.
- At the start of the game, one card is dealt to each pile.
- When the stock and waste are empty, spaces may be filled by a King or a sequence of cards whose bottommost card is a King.
- The goal is to create eight suites of 13 cards of the same suit from King to Ace within the foundations.
Stock · Top right of layout
- Turn one card at a time over from this pile to the waste.
- There is no redeal.
Waste · Left of stock
- The topmost card is available for play on the foundations.
